Glyn Jones Memorial Trophy played on Sunday 27th
June, at Cowes Golf Cub a morning only event.
Scratch event won by Matt Barnicoat 71 gross, second George
Faulkner 72 gross and third Darren Masterton 74 gross.
Handicap event won by Mat Heelan 68 nett, Second George
Faulkner 69 and Third Adam Riley 70.
In the twenty and above handicap category, 28 handicapper
Arthur Godfrey triumphed over second placed Ernest May and third Max Lucy.
Thank you to Cowes Golf Club for allowing the IWGU to hold
the Glyn Jones Memorial Trophy the welcome and hospitality shown by the captain
Paul Young, staff and members was appreciated.
After the Glyn Jones Memorial, Isle of Wight Golf Union held
an Annual General Meeting, President Peter Richardson has decided to step down
and Victor Treadwell appointed as the new President of the Isle of Wight Golf
Union and the executive officers remaining Hon. Secretary Bob Singh-Bansi, Hon.
Treasurer Andrew Westhorpe and Match Secretary Matt Barnicoat. A special thank you to Ian Ralph for verifying 2016 accounts.
